Prescriptions
Our aim is to make the process surrounding prescriptions as simple as possible for our patients.
Repeat prescriptions
If you are on long term medication you may obtain a repeat prescription by written request or by using the repeat prescription forms issued by the practice or by signing up for NHS Wales App.
You can submit your request by hand, post or NHS Wales App.
Please allow 48 hours for processing and checking via a doctor before a repeat prescription can be issued. This means 2 working days and it excludes weekends and Bank Holidays. You can also submit repeat prescriptions through your local pharmacy.
If you request a medicine which is not on your repeat prescription, a written explanation detailing reasons for your request is required. It can take longer than 48 hours for these prescriptions to be issued as this has to be checked by a healthcare professional to ascertain if the request is appropriate. You may be contacted by a member of the practice team with advice.

Things to remember
- Please allow plenty of time to re-order your prescription and not leave it until your medication has run out.
- Return the slip to the surgery indicating with a tick, which items you require.
- We are working to a 48 hour turnover for prescriptions.
- Prescriptions may be collected during opening hours (i.e., Monday to Friday).
Please note: We regret that we CANNOT take repeat prescriptions over the telephone.
Medication reviews
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.
Please ensure that you book an appointment to review in order to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
