About us

Ashgrove Medical Centre is a well established practice based in Llanelli. The practice is a purpose-built, modern healthcare premises. The Practice facilities are accessible for people with disabilities and a lift is available to the first floor. We have our own parking facilities and the nearest bus stop is in Thomas Street.

We aim to provide the highest quality medical and administrative services to our patients by maintaining and improving the health care services of our patients. We aim to educate our patients with the aim of moving from treating illness once it has occurred, towards preventing illness in the first place.

Our Practice Nurses see patients by appointment. They are involved in all the screening programs as well as taking test samples, ear syringing, routine blood pressure checks, undertaking cardiograms and cervical smears. They can offer advice on numerous health topics. They also assist in all the chronic disease and health promotion clinics that are run, and are competent at carrying out general health checks.

Receptionists provide a vital link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for all general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services, results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses. They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries, dealing with financial claims, dealing with patient records and carrying out searches and practice audits.
